SFLDEF has been approached by a NYC man who is threatened with
reduced contact with his
children. The mother of the children seeks modification of the joint
custody arrangment
because of his involvement with alternative sexual expression,
despite an absense of any
evidence that his sexuality adversely impacts his children, and
despite an abundance of
evidence that he is a consciencious and responsible father. While he
was successful in
having his joint custody reinstated, the case continues and in order
to continue to defend
the action, he desperately needs funds for his own legal counsel, to
defray his portion of
the fees to pay the court appointed attorney for the children, the
cost of a forensic
psychiatrist and possibly other experts to testify if a full hearing
is ordered by the
